Back in the 1960's, the St.
Johns River was
covered with fish camps where you could
stay
the night in a lodge, fill your boat up
on gas,
get a soda pop and some crackers, and
then
make your way on to your favorite
fishing hole
bright and early the next morning.
Today, most
of those facilities have been torn down
to make
way for new homes and growth. However,
one
still remains, and carries on a
tradition of
peaceful river life. That place is the
Half Shell
Resort RV Park.
The Half Shell Resort brings you back to
the
peace and quiet of "Old Florida", but
allows
you to have all the modern conveniences
you
so enjoy of today. Gone are the days of
the
river gas pump and the bait and snack
shop,
but, the old Florida oaks, the abundance
of fish,
the large boat dock, the amazing
sunsets, and
the tranquility of the camp still
remain.
